Little hands, big skills.
I offer private and semi-private cooking lessons for children ages 6-14 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Lessons take place on Saturday mornings (9:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m.) and Sunday mornings (11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.).
I aim to teach children the basics of making food from scratch. Each lesson covers a variety of dishes and kitchen skills; I use simple, whole ingredients, real kitchen tools, and hands-on methods. (Read more about my philosophy, and why these principles are so important for kids.)
NB: For my Fall 2017 lesson schedule, I'm using a more flexible approach, and welcome menu input from registered families. Though the September and October lessons are labelled with numbers, there are no prerequisite lessons. Any child may sign up for any lesson, space permitting. Lessons are $40 per student (plus a small Ingredients Fee, which varies per lesson). All equipment is provided.
