There were many wonderful moments with family. We gathered at cottages with 35 of my husband Alex's family members, including Polly and Cash's Great Uncle Brian, 85 (above, making his great-niece giggle). We went out for a big lobster supper, where the kids loved the lobster legs and Polly ate her weight in mussels.
I truly had the week off and did virtually no cooking. One morning, with no help from me, the 6 kids (ranging in age from 4-15) made breakfast for EVERYONE. The detailed menu says it all (note final option - P and C stand for my tykes!)
The annual McLean family soccer match was another fun morning. This year the kids could participate more fully and each got a goal (it helped that Grampy was playing nets!)
Of course, the setting was exquisite. We went on bike rides together on PEI's excellent trail system, and the kids biked from cottage to cottage. The Atlantic Canadian heat wave was in full swing all week, and we took advantage of it with lots of beach time and kayaking.
See you next year, beautiful island! Here's last year's PEI holiday post, if you'd like to have a look.
