Workshop at Sacred Heart School

In early March, I headed back to my alma mater (I went there from Grade 1-12!) to lead a cooking workshop with 10 eager kids. We made Bite-Sized Kitchen's Snacks Menu, and the kids got so excited about working with all the whole ingredients.

We made hummus and baba ghanoush, rolled our own energy bites and blended green smoothies.

After we finished, the kids all helped set a big long table with a table cloth and we ate together. Sampling everything together at the end of the class is such an important part of cooking together, and it's significant when the table is carefully set, the dishes are presented on beautiful communal platters and the children serve themselves. (I talked a bit more about table atmosphere in this post.)

Here's a little video of the kids singing while they roll the energy bites. I guess it made them happy! Thanks so much to Sherry Lynn Jollymore for the invitation; thanks for having me (back), Sacred Heart!
