When we visited our sweet friends in Toronto in February, we took on the task of making ravioli from scratch: a dish that none of us had ever tackled, despite years of cooking experience. Among the three families, we had six children under the age of 10, and they all helped out. It was the sort of beautiful chaos I yearn to repeat, and frequently. (See: Lessons.)
